In VUQC, Translation is defined
as an act or process to express or to make sense of a word
or text into another language.
We focus on sense in translation. Many people, however, are not
aware they have been given literal translation when contextual translation
or the ‘sense’ of words is required. In many cases both
literal translation and translation are mixed together! This is
easily seen by picking up a brochure of a Chinese product. As we
understand the importance of social, cultural, and personal experience
factors affecting the sense of words, we pay great attention on
each of the source words and the overall meaning and background
of the text. This is extremely crucial when translating the content
and context of a text in its most precise manner because this is
the text that will engage and make sense to your target readers.
